The City of Zurich's choice of planners for the redesign of the foyer in Zurich's Schauspielhaus, a time-honored 19th-century building, was won by MACH with a discreet and well-thought-out design. In close collaboration with the theater management and the city of Zurich, MACH succeeded in bridging the design between stage elements and contemporary architecture, staging visitors' entry into the theater world. The spacious entrance foyer opens the Schauspielhaus to the city square.

To publicly celebrate the newly designed house, the theater projected various highlights of its history through present day on huge cinema screens installed outside for several weeks. As a result, the Schauspielhaus set unprecedented audience records.
